Sustainable Mobility Concept: McKesson Europe AG Promotes the Use of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

As a further step towards sustainable employee mobility, McKesson Europe AG is now also offering its employees hybrid and electric vehicles as company cars. The addition of electric vehicles to the company's car fleet complements the mobility concept of the pharmaceutical wholesaler and pharmacy operator, which was awarded a "Mobil.Pro.Fit." certificate in 2017. The concept supports the use of public transport through a monthly mobility budget, among other things.

McKesson Europe AG is therefore actively contributing to climate protection and supporting the city of Stuttgart in its fight against fine particulate matter pollution.

Thanks to the new company car policy at the Stuttgart site, employees of McKesson Europe AG and GEHE Pharma Handel GmbH will be able to use hybrid and electric company cars in future. All e-drivers will be provided with an electric charging card and McKesson Europe AG employees will benefit from cheaper parking at the company's headquarters, where there are also quick-charging stations. Other incentives include free parking in many public car parks in Stuttgart and the assurance of not being affected by possible driving restrictions in the future. Employees are therefore encouraged to actively reduce CO2 emissions, and in doing so to contribute to climate protection.

With McKesson Europe AG's move to the new group headquarters in Stuttgart's Europaviertel in May 2017, 380 employees, previously spread across five locations in Bad Cannstatt, are now working at one central site. The company is easily accessible to all employees thanks to its immediate proximity to the main railway station and other public transport connections. The focus of the mobility concept is therefore on promoting public transport: McKesson Europe AG provides all employees with a high mobility budget and charges for the use of employee parking spaces. This has created incentives to encourage employees to leave their cars at home.

Another key element contributing to sustainable employee mobility is the provision of covered bicycle stands, changing facilities, lockers and showers at the new location. In February 2017, McKesson Europe AG received the certificate of the nationwide mobility initiative "Mobil.Pro.Fit." for its company mobility concept.

The company's commitment to sustainability is also demonstrated by the construction of the new group headquarters in Stuttgart. The modern building received Gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for its energy-efficient and climate-friendly design.
