The foundation for Corporate Responsibility at McKesson Europe
Corporate Responsibility (CR) describes our responsibility for handling economic, ecological and social resources responsibly.
We put this principle into practice by continuously adapting our strategy and deciding on CR measures accordingly. Our ICARE shared principles serve as our compass: Integrity, Customer-First, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
The McKesson Europe Code of Conduct (PDF 1.5 MB) guides us in our daily contact with our colleagues and business partners. It ensures that all employees act according to high legal and ethical standards and encourages honest conduct.
CR strategy with focus on the core business
As one of the leading international service providers for retail and wholesale operations in the healthcare sector, McKesson Europe performs an important role in society: We deliver over 130,000 medications daily to more than 58,000 pharmacies and hospitals through our 118 wholesale branches in Europe. McKesson Europe cares for over 2 million patients and customers a day at around 9,000 pharmacies, which include our own pharmacies, as well as partner and brand pharmacies. To do this we cover an average of 1.5 million kilometres per day – the equivalent of circumnavigating the globe 40 times.
Beginning with our five company priorities, we identified the key ways in which our operations impact on the environment and decided on appropriate measures. These are divided into the three CR key areas: Energy Efficiency, Material Reduction and Better Health. We have developed group and country-specific measures for these areas which conserve resources in the long term and offer added value for society. We will present them to you in the chapters with the same names.
The Management Board bears full responsibility for Corporate Responsibility at McKesson Europe. The Board defines the CR strategy for the Group.
