McKesson Europe Position Paper: Diesel vehicle bans must not disrupt medicines supply to patients
Over the last year, many cities across Europe have committed to introduce bans or restrictions on diesel vehicles in order to reduce Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) emissions. As public authorities have a duty to ensure the safety and welfare of their citizens, we support their efforts to improve urban air quality. This duty of care must however be balanced against other factors which could impact public health. In this Policy Paper we call on policymakers to give special consideration to the specific nature of full service pharmaceutical distributors so that we can continue to fulfill our statutory responsibilities to deliver medicines.
