The Public Affairs team supports the development of a policy environment necessary for the implementation of McKesson Europe business strategy. Furthermore, we help to reduce regulatory business risk, we identify market opportunities and most importantly, and with the support of our stakeholders we support and encourage a positive healthcare policy environment that delivers more positive lives for our customers.
Our function is responsible for the development and coordination of the group’s Public Affairs strategy, including all Public Affairs, trade body relations and public policy activity at EU and National level.

Every day McKesson Europe makes a real difference to the healthcare of millions of people. Our principal activities of pharmacy and pharmaceutical wholesale are, for very good reasons, highly regulated healthcare and medical environments. Changes to the law or new policy initiatives, all of which occur frequently, can have a dramatic impact on our business. Such changes can come from regional, national or EU bodies. We monitor these changes very closely and define an appropriate company response.
Our stakeholders include all policy leads in our trading countries, in national parliaments, and from the EU institutions. We also work closely with trade bodies, sectoral groups and umbrella associations.
The Group Public Affairs team acts as internal consultants for our country teams, functional directors and the management board.
